Mcdonald’s to go…

The effect that the internal macroeconomic environment can have on FDI is seen here as McDonald’s pulled out of Iceland last month, making it one of the few European countries (including Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina) without a McDonald’s.

The effect of the depreciating domestic currency has led to huge cost-push inflation due to rising import prices.
(To be complemented by this image showing the plethora of McDonald’s in America!)

Which gives us a timely reminder to the Alternative Big Mac Index published earlier this year…
