My deputy head, a physicist, has given me a couple of good resources to use with my Oxbridge group. The first is a lecture by Niall Ferguson. An article from Scientific American fits in well with this; unfortunately, you will have to buy the magazine or beg/borrow a copy; this link just gives a summary. Both look at the financial crisis but put it in the context of the development of economics.
