There’s no doubt this ruling today by an Indian court to reject Vodafone’s appeal will have an effect on foreign direct investment inflows. Vodafone was looking to appeal a decision taken in 2008 by the Indian tax authorities’ decision to impose CGT on an acquisition Vodafone did outside India, but for a firm that had assets in India.
