I’m always on the look-out for useful websites that can enliven the statistics behind economic development, and this looks like another very useful one…

StatPlanet allows you to study the world on one map, great for making global comparisons on different measures- e.g. HDI on a global scale, and you can even download the maps as PNG files (an image file format that should open on most computers). You can also look at individual countries and create graphs of specific indicators for that country. There’s probably loads of other useful tools on there- I only discovered it about five minutes ago and just HAD to share it with everyone!
