Some good news today ... David Miles, one of the City’s finest economists and a real expert on housing finance and the broader workings of the economy, has been appointed onto the Monetary Policy Committee. He starts his tenure in June.
David visited the Keynes Society a few weeks ago and gave a super presentation and seminar on prospects for the UK economy. He was rather bullish about the near term prospects, arguing that the huge policy stimulus from both fiscal and monetary policy will work as we move through 2009. Here is my blog on his presentation.
