A great article on Sainsbury’s strategy to accelerate its growth plans.  I used this article as an example of what Internal and External constraints their can be on a businesses Marketing Objectives, but it could also be used for the impact on Operations, HR or Finance.

A relevant news article on the turnaround of Sainsbury’s and how they are trying to build on the success and accelarate their growth plans.

I used this article after teaching the Internal and External constraints on meeting Marketing Objectives.

However, you could also use this article to show how Corporate Objectives can affect operations, HR and Finance.

I gave my students the following questions to answer, after reading the article:

1. What are Sainsbury’s corporate and marketing objectives?
2. What internal & external factors do you think might hinder Sainsbury’s from achieving this? (Apply)
3. How can Sainsbury’s overcome these?
