Two CPD days for Business Teachers - London (2 October) and Manchester (9 October)

Ideal for newly-qualified teachers or non-specialists who are required to deliver business courses. Perfect too if you just want some new ideas and resources you can take away and use straightaway.

Business Booster 2009 is the focused professional development course that will provide delegates with some fresh teaching tools, approaches and resources to be an effective practitioner in the business classroom.

Section 1: Making ICT Sweat!

tutor2u top ten resources and approaches for the effective use of ICT in Business Education. Engaging electronic lesson starters, PowerPoint Games and some useful tips on innovative PowerPoint design.

Session 2: Getting to Grips with Assessment (GCE/GCSE/BTEC options)

This practical session will provide delegates with an insight into how examiners mark, the skills they look for and how we can get students to demonstrate good exam technique.

Blocked! - A centre can be blocked by the External Verifier if the assessment is inaccurate and insufficient. We provide some top tips on how to ensure your assessment meets the standards set by the Awarding Body.

Session 3 - New Specs in Focus

This session will focus on key topic areas for the new GCSE and A Level specifications. A practical session using some of tutor2u’s top resources including the Business Influence Game, Finance Sorted, Structures and HeadHunter. All activities are designed to help students develop their analytical and evaluative skills, essential for exam success.

Session 4: DIY Business

Another practical session on how to design lesson activities and effective assignments.

Session 5: Start-up Starters

Business start-ups are now a common theme for AS and GCSE Business Studies Courses.
This session will showcase some great ideas and approaches to teaching business start-ups and for engaging students at the beginning of their business course
