We’re delighted that Tim Richards, CEO Vue Cinemas, has agreed to speak at the Business Teacher National Conference on Friday 19 June 2009. Tim is one of the UK’s leading entrepreneurs and in 2006 was awarded the prestigous Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year title.
Tim left a lucrative job with one of the world’s largest international cinema operators in the US, deciding to go-it-alone and develop and operate a new chain of cinemas internationally, believing he could provide a higher quality, dynamic product whilst also reducing costs. Vue Entertainment was subsequently founded in 1998. The first cinema opened in Livingston, Scotland in 2000 and there are now 53 cinemas across the UK. The Vue Cinema growth story is a fantastic case study and recent sales data suggests that Vue is helping the UK cinema market defy the credit crunch! Tim is a great speaker and is passionate about providing innovative cinema experiences that meet customer needs.
This is a great opportunity to listen to Tim’s story and to ask him the questions that help you use the cinema industry as a relevant example for your business students.
Tim joins a roster of other fantastic speakers at what is the best-value and most useful and enjoyable CPD event for Business teachers in the UK.
Also speaking are:
- Rachel Bridge (Enterprise Editor of the Sunday Times)
- Mike Southon (The Beermat Entrepreneur and FT Columnist)
- Mark Mitchell (Greenhead College and author of Friday Afternoon Business Studies)
Places at this fantastic CPD day are available at just £100 per delegate (departmental deal)
