As the economic downturn bites, more and more manufacturers are turning to a shorter working week in order to reduce production capacity and cut operating costs. This video clip explores the reasons why short-time working is proving so popular and why trade unions and employees tend to be supportive of the process given the alternatives.  An excellent insight into the practical employment implications of the recession.
