A super little video here from Sky Business News which describes how luxury brand Harris Tweed has enjoyed a significant boost in revenues as a result of product innovation and focusing on growing demand for luxury items from consumers in emerging markets…

Despite its remote location in Scotland, Harris Tweed is enjoying a remarkable renaissance.  Its a heart-warming story for an industry which, until recently, had been written off.  In a age of globalisation, this is one product which remains British!

Lots of rich business studies material in the video.  Note the highly-skilled, labour intensive nature of the product.  The tweed itself is now used for a much wider range of products, including luxury furnishings for hotels!
