A great insight from this article into the frustrations that startups often encounter when they try to raise finance from venture capitalists…

Entrepreneurs Fleur and Abi Emery tell the story of their startup in this excellent article in the Mail. Packed full of useful insights for GCSE & AS students (AQA & Edexcel), including some data on the intial profit and loss of the business.

Equally interesting is the reception that Fleur and Abi got from their meeting with venture capitalists. I will leave you to read the transcript of the interviews to get a flavour of the business insights that the VCs were able to offer.

Sounds like Grasshopper has got off to a great start, particularly following the listing of its products by Waitrose.  In a way, it is a similar story to the success of Fraser Doherty’s SuperJam (we ought to do some match-making and introduce them!).

p.s.

Grasshopper operate in the “oat cuisine” segment
This is not to be confused with “haute cuisine” - which, as we all know, is french for “hot food” grin
