UK regulators move in to control online advertising

A significant change is on the way for businesses that advertise online. The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) - the body that regulates advertising in the UK - is to widen its remit to cover all forms of online advertising from March 2011.  This includes advertising on social media such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as Google Adwords and any other advertising that is designed to sell or promote goods and services.  A sure sign that online advertising has come of age!  Good little piece from the Beeb explains more here
