Everton release their financial accounts - and I guess that’s why they call it the blues…

As an Everton fan, I have known pain and suffering. Our present lack of guile and guts on the pitch is matched only by the grim state of our finances off it. When you look at Everton’s accounts, it’s no wonder that the club have not enjoyed a net spend in the last five transfer windows and are sliding down the table - we should be grateful we can afford our coach to London on Saturday.

Here you will find copies of the club’s income statement, balance sheet and cash flow for the last financial year, along with analysis and summary.
You can also use this commentary by an accountant. Where possible, they have tried to express themselves in terms that even a football fan might understand, making it student friendly. Might be great for some Unit 3 finance revision, or for next year.

Enjoy…I wish I could - running a football club as a business is rubbish :-(
