The Frost Report does Stakeholders

Here’s an approach to teaching stakeholders that has worked really well for me recently…

As preparation, I had explained the concept of stakeholders and how important stakeholders were to a business and showed a short video to affirm their knowledge (there is a fantastic 4 minute clip here)

I put the class into 3 groups of 7 or more.  I then explained that 2 people were starting up their own bakery and needed to consider their stakeholders, their interests and (the clincher) how important each individual stateholder was.  The other team members were given a stakeholder each and told to spend 5 minutes preparing a 2 minute presentation to the owners of the new bakery on what they were interested in the business and how important they were to the new set up.

The new bakery owners then had to decide their top 3 most important stakeholders and why.

I then used the tutor2u worksheet on stakeholders as a home learning task to affirm the knowledge and understanding

The results were a cross between a dragons den pitch and the Frost report sketch (below) (which I showed at the end).
