Product innovation - is the jetpack ready for takeoff?
A great example of product innovation to use with students. Will this jet pack that takes customers soaring up to 3 feet above the ground be a hit with consumers?
I’m not sure the inventors of the jet pack featured in this Guardian video have quite got the marketing mix just right - yet.
The price? £50,000
The product? A jet pack powered by a petrol engine and two rotors, with a maximum height of 3 feet (currently)
Promotion? Well the demo helps create some publicity, but it might also put some potential customers off.
However, my hat goes off to the inventors. They have to start somewhere, and who knows what the product might look like in a few years or decades time.
