A fascinating video interview here with Angela Ahrendts, CEO of luxury brand Burberry. She talks to Richard Edgar of FT about the importance of listening, learning from mistakes and trusting instincts in a leadership role.

The business textbooks often suggest that a new CEO should move quickly to effect change in the first 60-90 days in a job.  Ahrendts has a different view.  She states that, had she implemented all the initial ideas she had on taking on the role, Burberry might well have suffered.  She believes is it better to take some time to look around and listen before determining the shape of strategic direction.
