Is this the worst job in the world?

Here’s an alternative way to teach motivation.  What financial or non-financial rewards might an employer have to offer people to do this job?

The Independent reports on a particularly nasty, smelly job that is currently being undertaken under the streets of London.  Sewer blockages are an increasing problem due to the excessive disposal of fats into the waste system. 

Can you imagine working as a “flusher” for Thames Water?  “Full breathing apparatus” is provided (great) - but that only goes a little way to alleviate the unpleasantness of the working environment.  I reckon I’d do the job for £1,000 an hour (in cash, brown envelope).  But how long could you work in that environment?
