Health & safety in action - the 1 million stroller recall

Bad news for British manufacture Maclaren. Maclaren are having to recall around 1 million pushchairs and buggies in the USA because of 12 reports of fingertip amputations after children caught their hands in the hinge mechanism.

The affected models (made between 1999 and 2009) are manufactured in China and are distributed worldwide.The same pushchairs are also available in the UK and use the same folding mechanism - but so far, no product recall in the UK.  The video below explains a little more detail about the US market recall:
