Launch BBC video on Funeral Director Cash Flow Problems

The average price of a basic funeral is £2,000 - apparently that has doubled in the last ten years (why?).  But now many bereaved families in the UK are being turned away by funeral directors - who are concerned by the rising level of customer debtors (£60m is owed).

The video raises some interesting ethical dilemmas for funeral directors, and also illustrates the role of government in funding schemes to address the issue for the poorest in society.
