Australian bank Westpac received a lot of criticism for this short (3 minute) video, in which they show how supply and demand can be used to explain the increasing price of banana smoothies and mortgages (interest rates).

While the tone of the video was seen as patronising by some of the bank’s stakeholders in Australia - especially the media - concepts covered within it are ripe for class discussion include stakeholders, marketing, credit availability, government intervention and the importance of banks within the economy.
