Apprentice Stars Lack Entrepreneurial Spirit
Sir Alan Sugar may be about to choose his next apprentice - but he is unlikely to be impressed with the owners of the Bridge Cafe. It is the cafe used by the losing team to lick their wounds before doing battle in the board room, but according to…
this article the owners don’t appear to have picked up many entrepreneurial skills.
This behind-the-scenes look at the cafe demonstrates that the owners have resisted change and are not seeking to take advantage of the exposure gained from the starring TV role. They have even resisted the temptation to cash-in by selling souvenir mugs emblazoned with “You’re Fired”.
Does this make them bad entrepreneurs? Perhaps they have thought ahead and realised that there are limited opportunities to be exploited. After all they clearly have a customer focus, and have assessed the risks of abandoning their long-term customers. Lucky that these topics are on the new GCSE specifications!
